Welcome to Reel Seafood Grill

Our goal is to bring you the freshest fish and shellfish available. We source locally from Virginia and the Carolinas, as well as bringing in species that are not available in waters close to home to offer you the most variety on our menu. We also offer fresh burgers, juicy steaks, and other special dishes from the land.

All items are prepared in our scratch kitchen, including seasonal side dishes, house made sauces, salad dressings and desserts.

Our wine list is carefully selected and updated often to bring you an eclectic variety of wines from the USA and around the world at value based price points. Wine pairing dinners are offered throughout the year.

We offer seasonal craft cocktails utilizing house made elements to bring together tempting and delightful flavors.

The Raw Bar is stocked daily with a variety of oysters from the east coast.

Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.

We offer gift cards, special event catering and private parties. Call for details.

It all started when…

Many moons ago there was a little place on Spring Garden Street known as “Bert’s Seafood” which was famous for fresh fish, prepared simply in a low key atmosphere with a quaint chalkboard menu. When Bert’s eventually faded away, original owner Drew Lacklen had the dream to bring back to Greensboro that same concept and thus in 2013, with the partnership of Steve Stern (of Ham’s Restaurant), Reel Seafood Grill was born. Reel was modeled on the original Bert’s, including chef Brad Hendrix in the kitchen, and soon had a fan following of lovers of fresh, simple seafood. In 2017 Drew decided it was time to hang up his apron and pass the baton to Todd Benton, whose love of wine and extensive front of house experience (including The Madison Park, Revival Grill, Marisol, and Bistro B) have brought Reel to a new level. Reel still boasts the freshest fish and chalkboard menu, but now offers attentive service, an artfully selected wine list, craft cocktails, and the “Reely Raw” oyster raw bar. Our Wine Dinners are offered multiple times throughout the year. Wine specialists lead diners through tasting five different wines in a variety of styles, each paired with a special dish created for that dinner.

Updates are posted to facebook and the website when a dinner is scheduled. Seats are limited so reserve early!
